Frequently Asked Questions

Tickets must be purchased in advance, at Irelandskates.ie. You should arrive at the Ice Marquee 20 to thirty minutes prior to your desired skate session to give you time to get changed into your skates prior to the start of your skate session.

Our ticket prices includes the supply of skates which range in size from junior UK 2 to 6.5 and Senior 7 to 13.5. You may bring your own skates if you wish but bringing your own skates will not get you a discount!

Our sessions begin on the hour, every hour during opening times and last for 45 minutes.

For health and safety reasons only children who are 4 years of age and older are allowed to skate and we do have fun supports to help younger skaters make their way around the rink safely. All children must be accompanied by an adult but they don’t have to skate!

Contact our box office and (subject to availability) we will happily arrange an alternative session for you. Please note that tickets cannot be refunded.

We hope not to have to cancel any sessions but if unforeseen circumstances arise and we do have to cancel a session, e.g. if there is a technical fault, then we will try to contact people as soon as possible and offer an alternative session. Tickets cannot be refunded in this case.

We are a fully insured event but this is an Ice Rink and there is a strong likelihood that you may fall. Please note that while you skate at your own risk and we cannot be responsible for injuries sustained as a result of ice skating, we will have Ice Marshalls on the ice for every skate session and we will also have fully trained first aiders on site at all times during opening hours.

Yes, we have a limited number of helmets and pads available on a first come first served basis and of course you are free to bring your own if you wish.

Not your Sunday best! This is Real Ice so it’s cold and wet! Therefore, we suggest that you wear warm light clothing if possible and do bring a change of socks just in case! Remember, you will be skating on Real Ice so you might also like to wear gloves while you’re skating just in case you have to pick yourself up every now and then!

There are really good coffee shops and eateries close by if you’d like to treat yourself to something nice before or after your skate and we will also be providing delicious hot and cold beverages and tasty sweet treats in the Ice Marquee.

There is no charge for entry to the ice-marquee but because space is at a premium we like to keep our spectator spaces for parents and guardians who are minding children.

There is plenty of parking available on a first come first served basis in surrounding carparks but please note that there may be a charge for this parking.

Of course … but please note that this is a leisure skating experience and speed skating of any kind is strictly forbidden.

Santa may make the odd skating appearance, but because he’s so busy at this time of the year he won’t really have time for photographs and also he has asked us to let you know that he won’t be delivering any parcels at the ice rink!
